Last week I decided to rearrange our furniture in the back room. With the cooler weather in full swing, I needed the room to be more cozy; a place we could relax and unwind as a family. I also wanted to make the couches and fireplace more functional. It took quite a bit of cleaning and reorganizing, but I am pleased with the new set up. So much so that I barely left the room all weekend.
Dealing with this head cold still, I really lacked the minimum motivation required to do just about anything this weekend. Besides the soccer and volleyball games and the basic household and children maintenance, I spent the weekend parked in my chair with my feet propped and snuggled in a blanket.
It's not very often that I take a weekend off. But my body seemed to be requiring it this past weekend. I feel like any idle time is wasted time. There is always something to be done and the more active the better. This weekend, though, consisted of scary movies, football and catching up on TiVo.
I definitely enjoyed every minute of it. I know it will be awhile before I have this type of weekend again, so I'm glad I was able to relax enough to make it happen.
