Memories in the Making

Birthdays are a big deal in our household. It's that one time of year where each child deserves their own special attention. A time for us to celebrate their lives because each one has changed ours for the better.

We began Alex's birthday celebration last Friday. With an early dismissal from school, we went out for lunch, a little shopping spree and his 7 year old pictures.
Mmm...Corn Dog...
It just so happened that he lost both of his front teeth a few days before said pictures. What better way to capture the essence of a seven year old boy than with a mouth full of missing teeth!

Yeah...he knows he's cute.
Our birthday celebrations focus on creating memories as opposed to getting gifts. Although he did get a few new clothes and a toy, the big suprise was his first St. Louis Cardinals baseball game.

A gift from the girls.
We let him think we were going to Steak-N-Shake for his birthday dinner. He was beside himself when we pulled into the parking lot of Busch Stadium.

With pre-grilled hot dogs and chips, eating his birthday dinner in front of the stadium put a permanent smile on his face. Once the hot dogs were finished off, we busted out the cupcakes and sang "Happy Birthday!"

Big #7
At the game, he was in awe. Between the cheering and the cotton candy, I'm not sure how much baseball he actually watched.

Good thing he has very few teeth!
He brought home a winner and exclaimed, "This is the best birthday ever!"

The Boys.
My Boy.
Happy 7th Birthday, Alex!
