Healthy Hearts for Life

In May of 2009, my unborn niece was diagnosed with a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD/HLHS). At that time the doctors believed her chances of surviving birth were slim to none. Ruth proved the doctors wrong and over the next 18 months continued to defy the medical certainties of a failing heart. After months of hospitalization and prayers, Ruth was blessed with a new heart on July 5, 2010. During these hard times, our family turned to many of you for love, support, hope and prayers. For that, we are eternally grateful.
Now, I am turning to you again to help us help others. CHD affects nearly 1 out of every 115 babies and is the #1 birth defect in the United States. CHD often goes undetected leading to untimely deaths in newborns, infants and children.
Please support this cause to provide education and research through the American Heart Association. Ruth has touched so many lives, and we are humbled by her strength. Unfortunately, too many families are burying their babies instead of hugging them tight.

The Pinkalicious Warriors are walking with Ruth so that more families can walk with their CHD babies in the future. Please join our team and/or make a donation.

Thank you for your continued prayers for Ruth and all CHD babies!
