Afternoon Delight (and not that kind...jeez get your minds out of the gutter people)

Alex and Eva came across a Rice Krispie Treat left over from Valentine's Day this afternoon. They found it underneath the couch covered in dog hair.  It was wrapped.  So of course I let them eat it.  Alex delicately broke the bar in halves and offered the "smaller" half to his little sister.  I watched as they compared their pieces and demonstrated how each had the same amount even if it didn't look like it because the gooeyness of the marshmallows can stretch out the Rice Krispie giving it the illusion that one is bigger than the other.  I tied that in with a "perception is not reality" lesson and turned to leave the kitchen to get back to work.

Before I left, I heard moans of delight and Alex saying, "this is the best thing eveeeeeeeeerrr!" and Eva "mmm humming" in agreement.

I whipped back around and sarcastically said "Have you never had a Rice Krispie Treat before?"

So worst mother of the year award goes to me.  I have never made them Rice Krispie Treats.  I don't know why, really.  Just never did.

I needed to rectify this situation immediately and not feel like an awful, neglectful mother.  Plus, they were just too darn cute eating this sugary treat.  And...I'm pregnant and they sounded pretty darn good to me too!

They are oh so yummy!  I even added some chocolate chips to half...because I'm that good!
