Angels On Stage

Back in early December, I wrote about how I was struggling to get into the Christmas spirit.  My son, however, was not.
I knew the spirit would move me at some point, I just wasn't sure when it would be.

When my precious son took the stage just a few days later in the school Advent program, I was bitten by the bug.  The bug of Christmas love.

With all of the commercializm and "I wants," watching my son portray an angel in the birth story of our saviour, the true meaning of Christmas was revealed in my heart.

It didn't change the fact that the "wants" were still there.  It didn't change the fact that we were operating on a very small, very tight Christmas budget.  It didn't change the fact that I still didn't know how I was going to pull it all off.

But, somehow it changed everything.

To see his angel face and his belief in not only Santa Claus but in the miracle of Jesus' birth, put the magic back in Christmas for me.

And with this belief and love in my heart, we did pull off Christmas...in all it's glory.

But it was with God first that we did it all.

was the same for me....all 3 of mine were in the Sunday School production and it was impossible not to be moved by the Spirit: Christmas or otherwise.
especially when my 2 year old wee lamb showed absolutely no hesitation for her part on stage. well, minus the part where she wanted to hold baby Jesus. ha
