To Know...or Not...Who Knows....Really?

Well, today is the day.  After a month long evaluation process consisting of counselor visits, teacher meetings, diet changes and our own personal reports, Grace will see her pediatrician this afternoon.  Since she already had a physical in July, I'm not sure what to expect at this appointment.  Will there be further physical testing?  Blood tests? Psychological experiments?  I haven't a clue.

Regardless, we will be there this afternoon.

Throughout this whole process, I've learned patience.  I'm hopeful to have a diagnosis this afternoon, but not expecting it.

It could take a long time.

Or we could find out that there is nothing there to diagnose at all.

I do know she's been working her tail off in the classroom.  I know that she is exerting a lot of effort to complete what the average six grader could do with minimal effort.  She is trying very, very hard.

Is this what academia is going to be like for her?  The necessity to try so hard just to remember to turn in assignments or answer all of the questions?

I guess there's only one way to know...or not know...I suppose.

So with a hopeful heart and my fingers crossed, we will go.
