Faking the Merry

Well, it's December.

Christmas is quickly approaching.

Yet, I am lacking the Christmas spirit.

My son, however, is not.

He's actually so full of Christmas spirit that it is coming out of his ears.

Yesterday, we made our own Advent calendar to stretch out the joy of Christmas over the next 25 days.

He bounds out of bed each morning ecstatic to do the next activity.

Yesterday, was a simple "tell your grandparents you love them" day.

Today we are to watch a Christmas movie.

At six this morning, he was already on the couch flipping through the guide and on demand to select our movie for tonight.

He had already turned on the Christmas music...singing along at the top of his lungs.

Meanwhile, the rest of us were still in bed.

Obviously not sleeping anymore.

I'm so glad he is excited.

Even more so that his excitement is not just for Santa Claus or presents.

He just has the spirit.

The spirit of love, giving and joy.

Hopefully, it will rub off on the rest of us.

I actually put on some holiday music today while I cooked supper...but for me, the big moment really is the tree. then I feel like Christmas has arrived..at least in the house.
