Once we were out on the road, the route and the memories came flooding back. I made this drive everyday for a summer. It was the only summer I didn't go back home.
Years have passed since my last visit here. I wasn't sure what to expect, but in towns like this most things stay the same.
With one last hill and one more bend, we reached our destination.
For most of the afternoon, we had the beach to ourselves.
Playing in the sand,
splashing in the water,
basking in the sunlight,
we slowed down enough to enjoy the moments.
I wanted to bottle this feeling.
The feeling of peace and serenity.
Feeling young and free.
With my children by my side,
I am whole again.
