Back Roads

Friday evening, we loaded up the family in search of some back country roads.  It was time to head to a place where cell phones and internet did not exisit.  Luckily, my grandfather owns a secluded little place in the woods that fits the bill.

The weather was perfect.  The company was entertaining.  The experience was much needed.

We roasted marshmallows.

We cut some paths with the three wheeler.

We held a washers tournament (Chris and I won...shocker!)

We played cards.

We chatted and laughed and ate and drank.

And we came home pleasantly worn out and ready to start the fall.

Sounds perfect! One of our best family getaways ever was a weekend like that in Colorado--we got a vacation rental also in the middle of nowhere. It was a blast!
